Playmobil Next Level: Introducing the global innovation Playmobil hi! and a broad brand strategy at the 2026 Toy Fair

What Playmobil has gradually announced over the past years will become visible on an entirely new level in 2026. Following “A Journey into the Future” (2024) and the clear commitment “The Future Is Now” (2025), the brand has reached a new stage in its evolution. At the 2026 International Toy Fair in Nuremberg, Playmobil demonstrates how a long‑established brand can evolve strategically, creatively, and culturally.

Playmobil hi! – Evolving role play

At the center of the 2026 Toy Fair stands Playmobil hi!, a world‑first innovation that reimagines classic Playmobil role play and lifts it to a new level.

Playmobil hi! blends the familiar Playmobil universe with interactive audio experiences, bringing it vividly to life. Through a wearable backpack, children encounter stories, sounds, puzzles, and play prompts directly while interacting with their figures. More than 500 audio elements across various play modes allow children to fully immerse themselves in their Playmobil world, offering variety, inspiration, and a new layer of play depth.

Playmobil hi! remains true to the brand’s DNA: figures, worlds, and imagination stay at the core—enhanced by a technical innovation that enriches and deepens the play experience.

With Playmobil hi!, the brand continues its mission to “unlock superpowers.” Children remain the directors of their own stories, choosing perspectives, characters, and play styles freely. Market research shows that Playmobil hi! keeps children engaged longer and more intensely, brings back former target groups, and attracts new ones—regardless of gender or prior play experience.

At market launch in September 2026 in German‑speaking regions, four worlds will be available: Police, Pirates, Zoo, and Riding Stable. International rollout begins in 2027.

Sky Trails – Innovation with impact

In 2025, Playmobil already demonstrated what bold innovation looks like with Sky Trails. Even before entering the market, the new action and construction system won the overall title of the 2025 German Toy Award and was additionally named one of the TOP 10 Toys of 2025.

Sky Trails combines building, action, and creative play into a modular system with long‑term development potential. Its launch was supported by the most extensive marketing campaign in the company’s history.

In 2026, Sky Trails will be further expanded and scaled internationally—establishing itself as a long‑term innovation pillar of the brand.

Football, partnerships, and cultural expansion of the brand world

A further strategic focus in 2026 is the expansion of play themes that are culturally deeply rooted and connect generations. Under the banner “Your World. Your Stadium.” Playmobil permanently anchors football within its brand universe.

Through a collaboration with the DFL, Playmobil is releasing Bundesliga figures for all clubs for the first time—a lineup with strong collector appeal and storytelling potential. This is complemented by a direct partnership with the DFB, which will bring a series of German national team figures to retail ahead of the 2026 Football World Cup.

Beyond that, Playmobil has expanded its brand partnerships—including with Mattel (Monster High and Barbie) and WWE. These collaborations exemplify Playmobil’s ambition to broaden its cultural footprint and engage new audiences.

“2026 is a special year for Playmobil, because we are demonstrating how we continue to evolve play from a child’s perspective. We are advancing classic role play, expanding our play worlds, and opening ourselves to new audiences—from families to collectors and fans of culturally anchored themes. With Playmobil hi!, we are taking the play experience itself to a new level and giving children even more room for imagination, ideas, and authentic moments of play. We are incredibly proud of that as a team,” says Bahri Kurter, Playmobil Board Member.

Evolving the classics

Despite all innovations, the classic Playmobil worlds remain the heart of the brand. In 2026, they are being further developed—with fresh ideas, contemporary interpretations, and added play depth.

This includes new impulses for popular worlds such as Fire Brigade, Everyday Life & Adventure, as well as iconic classics like the Knight’s Castle, which will be modernized and reimagined. In this way, Playmobil continues to combine tradition and innovation into a holistic brand experience.

In 2026, the company continues its strategic development with determination. Innovations such as Playmobil hi!, the expansion of Sky Trails, strong thematic pillars like football, and targeted brand partnerships mark the next step in a long‑term journey.

Playmobil is elevating play to the next level—and actively shaping the future of play.
